Supervisor Instrumentation

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:Grade 12 certificate with a minimum of 23 points in 6 subjects.

A National Engineering Certificate (N3) in Electrical Engineering: Instrumentation with 4 subjects or a National Diploma in Instrumentation or Industrial Automation (NQF Level 6).

A National Trade Certificate (Level 3) or equivalent in Electrical Engineering: Instrumentation.

A minimum of 10 years of relevant post-trade test work experience of which, a minimum of 5 years should have been on the supervisory level.

Practical skills, and maintenance-related experience in an industrial environment. Copper Smelter experience will be an advantage.

Sound knowledge of all instrumentation concepts, designs, standards, installations, and safe practices in an industrial environment.

Proven record of successful implementation of instrumentation maintenance systems, modifications, and/or upgrades to increase reliability and improve plant performance or efficiency.

Sound knowledge of process control systems (DCS and PLC) and related hardware and equipment. Knowledge of Yokogawa control systems will be an advantage.

Sound knowledge of Industrial Networking and associated equipment and principles.

Computer literacy (Microsoft Office packages, with strong Excel skills).

Code B Driver’s License.

Automation Specialist

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:Grade 12 certificate with a minimum of 23 points in 6 subjects.

A National Diploma or S4 or N6 or T3 or equivalent qualification in Control and Instrumentation with specialization in Automation. A Trade Certificate and qualification at NQF level 7 or 8 will be a distinct advantage.

A minimum of 7 years relevant post-qualification process control experience in an industrial production environment and advanced hands-on knowledge and skills of general instrumentation and Process Control systems that include Yokogawa DCS, Siemens PLCs, and Profibus protocols and industrial control networks (fiber optic).

Good fault-finding skills and the ability to perform troubleshooting on DCS Systems and PLCs.

Process Control Software programming skills in Yokogawa Centum VP (DCS) and Siemens TIA Portal (PLC) are a requirement.

Knowledge of Process Data Historian (Yokogawa EXAOPC and OSI PI Data Historian).

Knowledge of Safety Instrumented Systems (Yokogawa ProSafe System).

Ability to schedule work, prioritize activities and complete multiple tasks.

Ability to work accurately under pressure, excellent organizational and communication
skills (written/oral).

Knowledge of precious metals processes and Safety Awareness.

Computer literacy (Microsoft Office packages, with strong Excel skills).

Code B Driver’s License.
