- The candidate must be a specialist in Cardiothoracic Surgery and a full-time employee within the Wits Teaching platform (Current employees and Joint staff).
- At least 5 years’ experience as a Cardiothoracic Surgeon,
- At least 5 years’ experience at mid-management level,
- Appropriate teaching and research experience are essential requirements for the position, whereas a PhD would be advantageous.
03. Position:– Deputy Dean

Requirements
A Ph.D. or equivalent qualification in a health sciences-related field. A qualification in Health Sciences Education will be an added advantage.

- A distinguished record of research, teaching, and service.

Requirements
Lecturer: An appropriate PhD with some teaching and research experience. A record of independent research publications would be advantageous. Applicants with an appropriate Master’s degree can be considered, provided the applicant is registered for a PhD and commits to completing their doctorate within three years.
Senior Lecturer: An appropriate PhD, teaching and research experience. A record of independent research publications is required.
Associate Professor: An appropriate PhD, demonstrated excellence in teaching and mentoring students. A good record of research and scholarly publications. Demonstrated ability to supervise research up to PhD level.
Professor: An appropriate PhD, demonstrated excellence in teaching, mentoring students and staff. Conducting cutting-edge research and publishing in top-tier journals and or scholarly books. Furthermore, evidence of postgraduate supervision and a South African National Research Foundation rating or equivalent is necessary.
