Requirements
- Three (3) year relevant degree
- Four (4) years relevant work experience coordinating projects in an academic or research environment
- Experience working directly with engineers to establish project requirements
- Experience with procurement and large tenders (>R20M)
02. Position:– Professor/ Associate Professor/Senior Lecturer/Lecturer (Structural/ Concrete/Steel Engineering) X2
Location: Durban, KwaZulu-Natal

Requirements
- A PhD relevant to one of the following areas Structural/Concrete/Steel
- Evidence of excellent teaching experience and leadership in curriculum development in a relevant field at tertiary level
- Excellent and sustained publication of independent research in quality scientific journals, appropriate for the level
- A recognized leader in the field of specialization with an extensive and current research and publishing record in the South African Department of Higher Education (DoHET) accredited journals and peer reviewed conference proceedings. The list is available online
- Track record of authorship in Q1 and Q2 journals
- Excellent and sustained track record of successful supervision of postgraduate students at Masters and PhD level, appropriate for the level
- Excellent and sustained track record of successful attraction of external research grants
- Evidence of strong and sustained academic leadership within the Department / School/ College/ University, which includes mentorship and coaching
- Evidence of national and international recognition in a research area within the discipline
- Registered as a Professional Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) or eligible for such registration
- Experience in the use of modern structural engineering software packages
Associate Professor:
- A PhD relevant to one of the following areas Structural/Concrete/Steel
- Evidence of appropriate teaching experience and curriculum development experience in a relevant field at tertiary level
- Evidence of current and sustained publication of independent research in quality scientific journals, appropriate for the level
- Track record of authorship in Q1 and Q2 journals
- A sustained track record of successful supervision of postgraduate students at Masters and PhD level, appropriate for the level.
- Evidence of sustained and successful attraction of external research grants
- Evidence of national and/or international recognition in a research area within the discipline
- Registered as a Professional Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) or eligible for such registration
- Experience in the use of modern structural engineering software packages
Senior Lecturer:
- A PhD relevant to one of the following areas Structural/Concrete/Steel or
- A Master’s degree to one of the aforementioned areas and Professional Registration with ECSA
- Evidence of appropriate teaching experience in a relevant field at tertiary level
- Evidence of current and sustained research publication record in quality scientific journals, appropriate for the level.
- A track record of successful supervision of postgraduate students at Masters and/or PhD level appropriate for the level
- Demonstrated ability to apply for research grants, either as the Principal Investigator or as a member of a team
- Registered as a Professional Engineer with the ECSA, or eligible for such registration
- Experience in the use of modern structural engineering software packages
Lecturer:
- A PhD relevant to one of the following areas Structural/Concrete/Steel or
- A Master’s degree relevant to one of the aforementioned areas with evidence of submission of PhD for examination
- Current research activity as evidenced by a publication in quality scientific journals
- Experience in teaching in a relevant field at tertiary institution
- Registered as a Professional Engineer with the ECSA, or eligible for such registration
- Experience in the use of modern structural engineering software packages
- Evidence of presentations, at national or international conference
03. Position:– Head of Research
Location: Durban, KwaZulu-Natal

Requirements
- A relevant Doctorate Degree and having held a post at Senior Lecturer level
- Minimum of 10 years relevant research experience
- Minimum of 5 years verifiable experience in postgraduate teaching and/or developing junior staff
- A record of excellence in research and publication
- A track record of successful research supervision at all levels
- A track record of securing outside grants
- Where applicable, registration with the appropriate regulatory body.
04. Position:– Senior Lecturer / Lecturer (Applied Mathematics)
Location: Durban, KwaZulu-Natal

Requirements
- A PhD degree in the relevant sub-disciplines
- Evidence of appropriate experience in teaching Applied Mathematics at a tertiary institution;
- Evidence of presentations at national or international conferences;
- Current and sustained research activity as evidenced by publications in quality SAPSE/ISI journals, appropriate to the rank.
- A track record of successful supervision of postgraduate students at Masters and/or PhD level appropriate for the level
- Demonstrated ability to obtain research grants, either as the Principal Investigator or as part of a team.
- A PhD degree in the relevant sub-disciplines OR Master’s degree in the relevant sub-disciplines with evidence of submission of PhD for examination;
- Appropriate experience in teaching Applied Mathematics at a tertiary institution;
- Evidence of presentations at national or international conferences;
- Current research activity as evidenced by publications in quality SAPSE/ISI journals, appropriate to the rank.
05. Position:– Principal Technician Anaesthetics
Location: Durban, KwaZulu-Natal

Requirements
- Matriculation/Grade 12/Senior Certificate;
- BSc Degree in Medical Science or Health Science related discipline
- Three years computer experience including programming
06. Position:– Project Coordinator
Location: Durban, KwaZulu-Natal

Requirements
- A relevant Honours degree in social justice or related field
- At least two years relevant experience in project management
- Proven experience in Microsoft Office programmes and appropriate learning management system.
