UFS Vacancies 2024:- The University of the Free State (UFS) notification issued to accept online applications for the vacant post of Senior Director, Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Postdoctoral Research Fellowship, Vice-Chancellor and Principal, Clinical Placement Coordinator. All the candidates who are eligible for the post of Senior Director, Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Postdoctoral Research Fellowship, Vice-Chancellor and Principal, Clinical Placement Coordinator are required to fill out the UFS application forms using the official website portal of University of the Free State at www.ufs.ac.za.

01. Position:– Senior Director
Location: Bloemfontein, Free State

Requirements
• A postgraduate qualification on NQF Level 8.
• A minimum of ten (10) years relevant experience, of which five (5) years must have been in a senior and strategic leadership position.
• Experience in strategic and operational planning and execution.
• Demonstrated success in fundraising initiatives.
• Proven history of establishing networks and fostering relationships.
02. Position:– Lecturer: IsiZulu Education
Location: Qwaqwa, Free State
Application Deadline: 21 July 2024
Requirements
A relevant Doctoral degree in Education on NQF Level 10 with a focus on Language Education (for a permanent appointment)
or
• A relevant master’s degree in education on NQF Level 9 with a focus on Language Education (contract appointment: five years during which a relevant doctoral degree in Education on NQF Level 10 with a focus on Language Education MUST be obtained to be converted to a permanent position).
• Candidates must submit proof of registration for a doctoral degree in Education with Language Education as the focus of specialization.
• Candidates should submit an abstract of their thesis (or dissertation) to indicate relevance to Language Education specifically.
03. Position:– Senior Lecturer
Location: Bloemfontein, Free State
Application Deadline: 21 July 2024
Requirements
PhD on NQF Level 10 in Zoology/Biology/Environmental Science (Invertebrate Zoology focusing on Nematology).
• Proven laboratory experience (qPCR, NGS, phylogenetic analysis), experimental design and management of a potential diagnostic lab.
• Proven research record of relevant publications in national and international accredited journals (at least 5-10), including representative publications as lead author.
• Proven experience in presenting papers/posters at national and international scholarly conferences.
04. Position:– Postdoctoral Research Fellowship
Location: Bloemfontein, Free State
Application Deadline: 19 July 2024
Requirements
Open to all South African and foreign nationals for full-time research at the UFS.
• Graduated with a PhD degree in a relevant discipline within the last five years.
• Successful applicants may not hold full-time salaried employment during the fellowship.
• Successful applicants must be able to relocate to the UFS for the duration of the fellowship. This is a residential fellowship: the successful applicant is required to spend 80% of her/his postdoctoral period at the UFS.
05. Position:– Vice-Chancellor and Principal
Location: Bloemfontein, Free State
Application Deadline: 19 July 2024
Requirements
A doctoral degree would be generally required and the ideal candidate will be someone who fulfill the following criteria:
• Has a distinguished academic and research record.
• Recognised academic standing as a Professor or eligibility for appointment to the rank of Professor.
• A minimum of ten years of proven high level leadership success at an executive level having progressed through the academic/management hierarchy.
• Proven leadership, management and communication skills at senior management level in higher education.
06. Position:– Clinical Placement Coordinator
Location: Bloemfontein, Free State
Application Deadline: 07 July 2024
Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree or B Tech degree on NQF level 7 in a Health Sciences related field.
• Minimum of one (1) year’ experience related to the duties and responsibilities.
