Windhoek, August 2, 2023 – The Directorate of Wildlife and National Parks (DWNP) is calling for individuals with a keen eye for cleanliness and a dedication to preserving the nation’s natural wonders. With four (4) Cleaner Grade 15 positions open, this is a chance to contribute to maintaining the pristine environments of some of Namibia’s most cherished conservation areas.

Position and Locations

The DWNP is offering a unique opportunity to be a part of the team responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and orderliness of key locations across the country. The Cleaner Grade 15 positions are distributed across the following duty stations:

  • 1 x Dorob National Park (Cape Cross)
  • 1 x Namib Naukluft Park (Sesriem)
  • 1 x Grootfontein (Wildlife Management)
  • 1 x Keetmanshoop (Wildlife Management)

Rewards and Duties

Successful candidates will not only be rewarded with a competitive salary scale ranging from N$36,850 to N$47,917, but also with the satisfaction of contributing to the well-being of Namibia’s conservation areas. The role also includes a transport allowance of N$8,760 per annum and a housing allowance of N$8,712 per annum.

Qualifications and Responsibilities

Applicants are required to have a Grade 10 or Grade 11 certificate (NQA level 2) or an equivalent qualification. Additionally, a minimum of 20 points over seven (7) subjects with an E symbol in English is necessary. The primary responsibilities of the Cleaner Grade 15 include:

  • Carrying out a variety of cleaning tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping.
  • Stocking and supplying designated facilities.
  • Maintaining and stocking the cleaning equipment and material store room.
  • Proficiently using various cleaning products and equipment.
  • Taking stock and notifying supervisors of deficiencies or repairs required.

  • Wildlife Protection Services (WPS) applicants who pass the interview will need to present their latest Certificate of Conduct.
  • Proof of confirmation of probation is required for applicants within the Public Service.
  • Testimonials and proof of working experience must be attached for applicants outside the Public Service.
  • Foreign qualifications require proof of evaluation from the Namibia Qualification Authority (NQA).
  • Complete the employment application form thoroughly.
  • Applications without complete forms, letters of confirmation of probation, or partial signatures will not be considered.
