• MS suite proficiency – PowerPoint, Advanced Excel skills with demonstrated experience in data analysis. Needs to be comfortable with VLOOKUP, Index Match, SUMIFS, Advanced conditional formatting, Pivot tables and reporting, Macros and VBA, Data Simulations.

• Preferably B.Com Degree / Relevant Retail qualification
• Ideally 3 – 5 years planning experience with emphasis on perishables planning, and with some measure of specialisation within a discipline
• Good computer literacy, with an above average grasp of all office applications,
• Must have good knowledge of supply chain operations i.e. Suppliers , DC, Stores and understands the supply chain concepts

Bachelors Degree in Finance, Auditing, IT, Data Science or related fields.

·       Certification in project management methodologies (Agile/Scrum, Prince2, PMP)

·       Professional certification will be added advantage (e.g. CA(SA) /  CISA / CIA)

·       5 years’ experience in internal audit, strategic planning, or project management within the retail, supply chain and FMCG, industries.

·       Strong understanding of risk, governance, and control frameworks (e.g. COSO, ISO 21500, 21502, 31000)

·       Experience with digital transformation or systems implementation audits (e.g., ERP, POS, WMS)

·       Experience with data analytics, audit management tools, and digital transformation initiatives is advantageous.

·       Strategic Thinking: Able to see the big picture and align audit activities with business objectives. Recognises emerging risks and industry trends that could impact strategic goals.

·       Project Management: Excellent planning, execution, and delivery skills with attention to timelines and quality. Strong capability to manage providing assurance and keeping track of multiple strategic projects at one time.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• AWS Certifications (AWS Data Analytics, AWS Solutions Architect) are highly advantageous.
• 5 years of experience in data engineering, with at least 2 years focused on cloud-based data product development.
• Experience in building scalable data products for analytics, reporting, and AI/ML workloads.
• Proven expertise in developing and managing cloud-based data pipelines, with a strong focus on automation, scalability, and optimisation.
• Experience working in a cross-functional engineering environment, collaborating with data engineers, AI/ML teams, and platform architects.
• Expertise in building and optimising cloud-based data pipelines using AWS services such as Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, and EMR.
• Strong knowledge of AWS data services, including S3, Redshift, Snowflake, DynamoDB, and Athena.
• Experience working with Kafka, Kinesis, and CDC-based data flows.
• Expertise in Git, Jenkins, Terraform, and CloudFormation for deploying automated data pipelines.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and PySpark for data transformation and engineering workflows.
• Ability to monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise data pipelines using AWS CloudWatch.

• 8 -10 years previous industry experience – a significant portion of which was spent at management level
• Minimum 4-year business degree / post-grad qualification / MBA would be a strong recommendation
• Demonstrated ability (8 years ) in sales, trade marketing or distribution
• Retail / FMCG experience required, preferably within the Liquor Industry
• Experience in Sales and Distribution in FMCG Liquor
• Familiarity with diverse business functions such as Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain etc.
• Sound knowledge of corporate governance and general management best practices
• An entrepreneurial mindset with outstanding organizational and leadership skills
• Analytical abilities and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to travel nationally

• Knowledge of data governance frameworks such as DAMA-DMBOK.
• Strong experience with conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
• Expert in RDBMS (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and cloud-native solutions (Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery, DynamoDB).
• Hands-on experience with AWS (S3, Glue, Redshift, Athena)
• Proficiency in ETL/ELT, API-based data exchange, and event-driven architecture (Kafka, Kinesis, Pub/Sub).
• Experience with data cataloguing, lineage tracking, and metadata management.
• Familiarity with data access controls, encryption, role-based access management (IAM), and compliance standards.

• Wine knowledge (WSET Level 2 or equivalent) is advantageous
• Minimum of a 3-year degree / post grad qualification in relevant commercial degree.
• 3-5 years’ experience managing a team/leading people is required
• Experience in the liquor category & adjacent categories is advantageous.
• Ability to articulate complex concepts in clear, simple & logical terms & build compelling presentations & professional communications
• Ability to influence internal / external partners at all levels, with various backgrounds and expertise
• Resilience and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Highly entrepreneurial and passionate about the Liquor category
• Advanced MS suite proficiency (Excel & PPT) and data visualization tools (e.g., Qliksense or QlikView, etc)
• Ability to travel nationally and internationally
• Proven sourcing and supplier management experience. Wine Supplier base experience will be preferable.
• Proven ability to provide tactical input and deliver a category operating plan.
